Peacocks

Peacocks have roamed the gardens of the Palácio de Cristal for generations. In the full summer glare, two peahens stand watch along a whitewashed wall while their chick, half hidden in the dry grass, learns to forage. The scene went pale and still, like an old fresco left out in the sun.
